Eleni is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist based in Nicosia, working in her private practice conducting psychotherapy either face-to-face or online with clients.

Eleni has studied BSc in Psychology as a first degree in the UK at the Royal Holloway University of London, and in addition did two Postgraduate degrees (MSc, Post MSc Dip) in Counselling Psychology at the London Metropolitan University, where she was awarded with the Chartership status.

She has worked in primary care at GP surgeries in London as the Head of the Counselling department, offering psychotherapy to patients facing a variety of clinical/psychological issues. In addition, she has also worked in secondary care and in particular at the Guys’ and St. Thomas NHS hospital in London in the Renal department; she provided psychological support and therapy to patients and their relatives. Eleni has experience working in the counselling service of primary and secondary schools in London, working with children and adolescents aged between 6 to 14 years old.

Eleni offers evidence-based psychotherapy to young people and adults who face a range of psychological difficulties. This includes Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT). She is trained on Mindfulness and Dialectical Behavioural therapy which she uses as tools to assist therapy depending on the clients’ problems and difficulties.

Her areas of expertise and interest are:
– Clinical depression, anxiety disorders (panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, other phobias), trauma and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), personality disorders, eating disorders, low self-esteem and confidence issues, anger management, bereavement, identity issues, relationship/sex problems, sleep disturbances (insomnia), and finally, parental guidance/counselling.

Since her return to Cyprus she has joined the Cyprus Psychological Association, and is registered in the Professions council that is responsible for the permit and approval to practice the profession of Counselling psychology in Cyprus.

In addition, she is an associate fellow with the British Psychological society and an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. She is also an affiliate member with the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science.

Eleni is dedicated and committed to her continuous professional development; she attends seminars and workshops to develop new skills and “therapy tools”. She makes sure she keeps up to date with the latest research and advancements in her field, and aims to apply them in her practice.
